Mainly Mozart in the Schools
Through Living Composers
Since 1992, the lives and music of Mozart and Beethoven have been brought to life and shared with thousands of elementary school students annually through “Living Composers” assemblies that engage them in interactive performances set to the music of these master composers. A Question and Answer session follows each assembly, and pre- and post-visit educational materials are provided to teachers. During each assembly, teaching artists entice the children with visually appealing scenery and costuming as the music of either Mozart or Beethoven is played in the background. A narrator takes the children on a historical journey through the life and times of the composer as the actors interact with the audience. “Living Composers” is offered in both English and Spanish and performed in San Diego and Tijuana.
