Mainly Mozart Festival Orchestra

Under the direction of Michael Francis and composed of concertmasters and principal players from North America’s leading orchestras, the Festival Orchestra is the foundation of Mainly Mozart.

From now on, the Mainly Mozart Festival really should be on everyone’s classical music radar. I’m just embarrassed that it took me 31 years to find that out.” – San Francisco Classical Voice

Hadelich, Francis, and the festival orchestra did not perform Beethoven’s music. They released it from its terrestrial confines. I was expecting transcendent and my expectation was exceeded.” – San Diego Reader

Mozart & the Mind

Mozart & the Mind kicked off our 2019 June Festival with an in-depth exploration of Music and Autism.

In 20 years of attending autism workshops as a speech therapist, I have never been to an event like the Mozart & the Mind autism symposium in San Diego, California. It was a paradigm-shifting weekend as autism was presented through celebration, visionary genius, art, strength, and love.” -Marisa Leon, founder of Autism Heals.

Mainly Mozart Youth Orchestra

The Mainly Mozart Youth Orchestra offers six different ensembles that integrates young musicians of all abilities and musical backgrounds. We provide students with solo, chamber, and orchestral performance opportunities throughout San Diego and Baja California, as well as the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to rehearse and perform side-by-side with the Mainly Mozart Festival Orchestra.

My most memorable experience with MMYO was when we took a bus trip down to Tijuana to perform a concert with a local youth orchestra and hundreds of choir children and then played a side-by-side concert with the Mainly Mozart Festival Orchestra that same evening.” – Lucy Ren, class of 2019

My daughter absolutely loves everything related with the Mainly Mozart Youth Orchestra. It has been an amazing experience and a huge growth because of the committed instructors.” – Musician Parent
